What is she up to now? « Thread Started on Nov 17, 2007, 5:51pm »
Layla impatiently shuffled along on the sidewalk. Her feet urged her on, and she was bored and had nothing else to do. Since she was new here, she didn't know anyone, and hoped she would find someone new. She then came upon a small town college. Asteria College it said in big bolded letters. She studied the words carefully, over and over again, until they finally registered her excited mind. She decided she would go in and take a look. Hey, who knows, maybe she'll meet someone new.
As she opened the huge doors, she walked into a large room. It definitely looked like a college, but she decided to check it out anyways. It seemed empty, there was no one there, except for teachers of course. Most were sitting on their computers, or going through lesson plans, and other things like that. They all would stop what they were doing as she walked by the classrooms. She would just smile and wave at them. It seemed like a nice college, and she wouldn't mind coming here. She just hoped she would meet someone here, if anything.

Easton wondered impatiently why it seemed like he was the only one there, that was until he spotted a girl a couple feet away. She was pretty, and without even realizing it, his feet were walking towards her. He couldn't stop himself, even if he tried. His conscience wouldn't let him, and when he finally felt stupid pulling himself back by hanging on to walls, and had a feeling she was staring at him like he was a freak, so he gave up.
He was two feet away from her and was working up something to say to her, even though all he really had to say was hi. He breathed in deeply before he spoke. "Hey, I'm Easton. Do you go to school here?" he decided to ask. He didn't know if it was a dumb thing to say or not, but it was to late to think about that since it was already out of his mouth. He swallowed with a cute, awkward smile. He wasn't usually this shy, but there was just something about her that he had to figure out.

She heard some shuffling of feet, and instinctively looked toward where the sound was coming from. She looked across the hall and saw a boy. She giggled a little at him when he started walking towards her almost as if he was afraid to: pulling on walls and trying to stop himself making him look a little funny. Then, as he obviously gave up making himself look like a weirdo, he started walking like a normal human being.
He got closer and closer and she was afraid at what he might say. Then, he spoke. "Nice to meet you, Easton. No, I'm just checking it out. But I'm thinking of going here; That is if there are actually people here. Do you go here?" she said gliding with ease. She waited for his reply. He was cute, and she wouldn't mind getting to know him.

He listened to her words carefully. "Well it's nice to meet you to, but by chance could I get your name? Yeah, I was thinking of going here too, but the only person other than myself I see here is you." he replied more easier now. He also felt like adding, "... but I'm okay with that..." but he didn't want to feel stupid.
After having stood there for a couple minutes, he asked her a question. "Hey, would you wanna join me to go ice skating on Hunters Pond? I've visited the place a couple times before, and the ice is thick and nice and smooth. Would you want to? I'd like the company." He bit his lip, which was a habit he had to get rid of.

"Sorry, I'm Layla. You were thinking of going here? Did I change your mind on that?" she laughed a little at her sarcasm. He looked as if he was going to say something more by the expression on his face, but he didn't.
Suddenly, she heard his voice again. "Well I would but I'm not very good! I haven't gone ice skating since I was like 10..." she sighed, "but you could teach me if you want... then I'll go." she finished. She really wanted to go, and it sounded like a lot of fun. She looked at him with her excited smile, and could almost feel herself blushing.

He laughed. "Sorry, I meant I am thinking of going here." He looked at her face. She was beautiful when she smiled, especially since she looked happy. He gazed at her eyes, having to shake his head in order to get him out of it. Then, he just smiled.
"I can teach you. It's not that hard to learn. Anything it takes to make you go... do you have skates?" He hoped she'd come with him because he wanted to go, but not alone; and he especially wanted to go with her. Easton looked up at her again. He couldn't help but start gazing into her eyes again. This time he couldn't shake his head and get out of it.

"Oh, okay... that's good. she chuckled a little and looked up. He was looking at her, and it made her blush. "What? Why are you staring at me?" she looked away once she felt her face get hot with redness.
[b]"Well, if you'll teach me, then sure, I'll go with you; and yes I have skates... I bought them last year, hoping I would go, but I never did, and they should still fit, my feet haven't grown since then. She was glad he asked. She didn't have anything planned after this anyways. Erin was just planning on going home, make some buttery popcorn, and watch TV. But this would be a whole lot more fun.

Easton watched her as he spoke. "No reason..." he saw her face turn red, and smile his cute little smile. He knew he had a reason for staring--gazing at her: She was beautiful! But he couldn't tell her that.
"Well then, I guess we'll meet at Hunters Pond at noon. Is that a deal?" he suggested, holding out his hand for her to shake. He hoped that time would work for her, and if it didn't, that was okay. He could change it to a time that would work for her. Hey--what else did he have to do other than go home and sit on the couch watching TV for the rest of the day?

(I meant Layla in that last post... sorry)
Layla knew there was obviously a reason, but she didn't question. He obviously had a good reason not to tell her.
"It's a deal!" she laughed, shaking hands with him. She was glad it was at lunch. Perfect time for her. "Well, I guess I'll see you then! Bye!" she waved and left out the door and to her 2007 chevy malibu.

(I guessed you meant Layla but yeah obviously you know he left the college, I mean I don't think he'd stand there pondering over his thoughts until noon so I'm not even gonna post back to that...lol)
